Infinitive क्या है | Infinitive examples | Types of Infinitive | use of the infinitive in Hindi

Infinitive सामान्यतः (to + Verb) के रूप में प्रयोग किया जाता है , अर्थात verb से पहिले to लगने वाले को हम Infinitive Verb कहते हैं, लेकिन ये कभी कभी बिना to के भी प्रयोग होता है । जो infinitive verb बिना to के प्रयोग में आतीं हैं उन्हें हम Bare Infinitive कहते हैं।

1. Simple Infinitive Example in Hindi

simple Infinitive या Noun Infinitive का प्रयोग sentence में Noun की तरह होता है , जब की ऐसे sentence के हिन्दी अनुवाद में वाक्य के अंत में, ना , ने सामान्यतः लगा होता है।  ऐसे sentence को हम सामान्यतः Simple sentence यानि to + verb के साथ लिखते हैं simple Infinitive verb को to Infinitive भी कहा जाता है ।

1. I am to go ( मुझे जाना है )           2. She is about to go  ( वह जाने को है )

3. To find fault with others is easy.  ( दूसरों में गलती ढूँढना आसान है ) 

4. She want to sleep.( वह सोना चाहती है ।)

5. Men eat to live.  (आदमी जीने के लिए खाता है )

How/what/when/where/which/why + Infinitive

ज़्यादतर Verbs: ask, decide, discover, find out, forget, know, learn, remember, see, (=understanding) think, understand, want to know, wonder, etc; का प्रयोग उपरोक्त Wh वाले word के साथ किया जाता है जैसे

1. Tell me what to do. (कहो मुझे क्या करना है।)

2. She Know how to swim. (वह तैरना जानती है)

3. She discovered how to operate the machine. (उसने मशीन को संचालित करने का तरीका खोजा)

4. I remember when to switch off the machine. (मुझे याद है कि मशीन को कब बंद करना है)

2. Bare Infinitive या Infinitive Without ‘to’

ज्यादातर हम यही जानते हैं की Infinitive में to लगा होता है । परंतु कुछ Auxiliary Verbs के साथ यह नियम लागू नहीं होता है । इन Auxiliary verbs के साथ बिना to के infintive प्रयोग होता है । निम्न Model Auxiliary के साथ to का प्रयोग नहीं होता है।

जैसे : shall, will, should, do did, may, might, must, can, could, need. 

1. I shall pay.
2. I should write.
3. I may go.
4. He will come.
5. He would write.
6. He can say.
7. I could talk.

1. She dare not speak so ( As Model )   2. Dare He complains against you?  ( As model )

3. She dares to speak so ( As Principal verb)   3. She needs my help. ( As principal verb )

कुछ ऐसे verbs होते हैं जिनके बाद आने वाले infinitives के साथ to का प्रयोग Active voice में नहीं होता है जैसे : Bid, let, make, feel, watch, behold, hear, overhear, notice, observe, see, etc.

1. she bade me go.
2. let her sing.
3. I made him sing.
4. I didn’t notice him go.
5. I feel her touch me.
6. I observed him play.

जैसे: 1. She was made to sing.      2. I was bidden to go.

लेकिन ध्यान दें let के साथ Passive voice में भी to नहीं लगेगा ।  जैसे : He was let sing.

जैसे : (1) She is better able to speak than write.  (2). He is stronger than me.

निम्न प्रकार के senetcne में except to / but to नहीं लगता है ।

जैसे : (1). I do nothing but protest.    (2). He did nothing but cry.   (3) All have left except you.  (4) All-girls have passed except Mona

Example:

1. He pretends to be looking for a magazine.  (वह कोई पत्रिका देखने का दिखवा कर रहा है। )
2. She appears to be looking for us.                 ( वह हमें ढूंढ रही, लगती है ) 
3. Sham seems to be living in this room.          ( शाम इस कमरे में राहत है, लगता है )
